I don't know about you guys, but I hate to have to prove that I'm "not a robot" every time I make a comment on a blog, deciphering those Captchas of discombobulated words. So for Poetry Friday, over at Dori Reads, I've created a poem that addresses that directly.
I, ROBOT
To speak your mind
You have to prove
You're "not a robot"
And be approved.
Before your comment
Words are said,
You have to read
What can't be read.
But here I'll tell
The Blogosphere:
I AM A ROBOT!
I'm coming out here.
As for YOU, Please prove you're not a human:
By the way, growing up, Isaac Asimov was one of my favorite authors, not just his science fiction, but his non-fiction as well. I even wore a string tie in junior high school.

Douglas, a poem about robots with reference to my favourite author...love it! Even though the word 'robot' had been around for awhile, a lot of people don't realize Asimov coined the term 'robotics.' Thanks for sharing!
Ironically, your blog is now asking me to prove I'm not a robot...
Yes, Matt, that is ironic, but we robots are often made of iron.
And I always thought that "robotics" meant robots doing exercise.
greadea 41 - that's what I'm having to type in. Maybe a title for someone's new sci-fi project?
Thanks for the robotic fun today!
Hey Robyn, Maybe there IS a robot book in here. Thanx!
R2D22.
I tried to prove that I was not
A bot, a script, a tool
But I failed so persistently
I felt just like a fool
Is that an 'A'? Or 'T'? Or 'C'
Or 'X' crossed with an 'N'?
This squint-inducing task I'm sure
Is not for mortal men
I refresh, retry, try again
Until my brain unspools
Whoever thought these 'captchas' up
I fear is somewhat cruel ...
Not bad for a robot! love it!
I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one who hates these things! Love that poem!
