Recession Blues

Here's a poem I've just concocted for Poetry Friday, now hosted at Poem Farm
It's called Recession Blues and it's only for the 99 percent. I don't always drink iced coffee, but when I do, I prefer Equadoran. Stay thirsty, my friends.

Recession Blues

I can't pay my bills.
My car's in the shop.
My frigidaire spills
A leak that won't stop.
My wallet is empty.
My cupboards are bare.
Thank goodness I still have
My old savoir-faire.

Ah, yes! It is our attitude and approach that will sustain us through all difficulties. Thank you for this - a poem of hope!
