I was surprised to get a nice review Friday in The New York Times of my show of abstract paintings (link below) There has been a dialogue (sometimes shouting match) between my illustration and abstract work for some time. This piece is titled "My Constellation" and is gouache on paper, 16 inches by 16 inches. Photo courtesy Bravin Lee Programs, 526 West 26th street, NY, NY

Congratulations.
I've just read the review, and yes, it is very nice: "...his excellent eye for color shines... Elizabeth Murray, maps, ..., Gerhard Richter all come to mind..."
But we (your book fans) have known for years that you let in the light with both your words and your art.
How long will the gallery show be up?
Congratulations. I saw the review and went to see the show. I thought it was terrific and I was happy to see you'd sold a number. I found it fascinating to both recognize you and discover you as an artist.
Congrats, Douglas!
Do you have any showings at any NY galleries at the end of June perchance?
How wonderful! I'm so thrilled for you!! It's incredible to be reviewed by the NYT, but to have a great review: magical! Wish I could see those in person.
Thanks Jane, laurasalas, Paulis, Kelly, and Teresa!
I'm so sorry that I missed seeing this!
I really like this painting, Doug.
