Poetry Friday

Anastasia Suen is hosting Poetry Friday. Here is a poem from Oh, That's Ridiculous, Poems Selected by William Cole, with drawings by Tomi Ungerer

That Head

I suppose I've passed

him a hundred times,

but I always stop

for a minute

And look at his head,

that tragic head,

the head

with nobody in it.

Poor guy! This poem reminds me a little bit of Shel Silverstein's poem, Loser, where the character loses his whole head!

I think I've passed this fellow!

Love your blog. I arrived by recommendation from Poetikat. I started at this one, but I kept scrolling down, down.

May I subscribe?

I love all the Cole edited (and Tomi illustrated!) collections. Thanks for sharing this one, it's been a while since I've seen that head.
