Seems a lot of people are vanishing in the publishing world, lately. So here's a poem by Hugh Mearns (1875-1965) to cheer things up a bit.
Antigonish
As I was going up the stair
I met a man who wasn't there!
He wasn't there again to-day!
I wish, I wish, he'd stay away!

I posted another possibility over at The Drift Record , Douglas, because the title of the song and the name of the group seemed appropriate - but then the lyrics worked, too.
Poetikat, you're on the right track! The poem Antigonish was inspired by reports of a haunted house in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada, and was originally part of a play. Mearns himself was not Canadian.
One of my wonderful art directors is vanishing.
That is sad. I hope she reappears very soon.
my son is a magician. I'll see what he can do.
