I've been doing this for thirty years but it's still a thrill when the first printed and bound book sits in my hands. I'd like to thank my awesome editor Andrea Welch, my diligent designers, Ann Bobco and Michael Mc Cartney ( I drove them nuts with changes), publisher Allyn Johnston, Mike Shoulders for suggesting the title, and Rubin Pfeffer of Simon & Schuster for making it all happen. The publication date is March 10th and I'll be blogging about it between now and then.
Now I gotta go walk my Iguanodon, Ignatz.

congratulations!
Yay!! Congratulations! It looks fabulous!
Douglas,
I'll be looking forward to your book's publication next March. I own every poetry book you've written and illustrated to date. I'm always happy to add another "Florian" to my library collection.
Thanks Nanny, Abby and Elaine.
My editor calls it my best book ever "hands down," and who am I to argue?
Congrats on your next book! It looks like my youngest son will love it!
The dinosaur wearing the attractive string of pearls scared me!
Oh goodness, I have boys that like dinosaurs. (And trains, lots of trains.) Good luck with the new book, it sounds great! Can we get a tiny taste of it somewhere?
I will put a "tiny taste" out but meanwhile watch the masthead, currently IguanaDONNA, but likely to change

My kids and I love your poetry:)
Thanks Jill,
I've added your cool blog to my blog favorites. A veritable blog jam.
